Shi Zhiyong is a Chinese weightlifter who competes in the 73kg weight class. He was born on October 10, 1993, in Zhanjiang, China. Shi made his international debut in 2015 and quickly rose through the ranks to become one of the best weightlifters in the world.
Shi has won multiple gold medals at both the World Weightlifting Championships and the Asian Weightlifting Championships. He is known for his explosive power and technical proficiency in the snatch and clean and jerk.
In 2018, Shi set a new world record in the snatch with a lift of 164kg and became the first man in history to clean and jerk three times his body weight. He is considered one of the greatest weightlifters of his generation and is a strong contender for Olympic gold at the 2020 Tokyo Games.
